Ibn Battuta was impressed with China because of the paper money and quality of Chinese silks and porcelain. He felt that among all the countries that he had travelled to, China was the best as he felt that it was the safest and most pleasant country for a traaveller.

Shams ad - Din, also known as Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Battuta, was born at Tangier, Morocco, on the 24th February 1304 C.E.
He was born into a Muslim family of legal scholars and judges.
He left Tangier on Thursday, 14th June, 1325 C.E. , when he was twenty one years of age.
He studied Muslim law as a young man, and was prepared t become a Muslim judge, also known as the qadi.
His travels lasted for about thirty years, after which he returned to Fez, Morocco at the court of Sultan Abu 'Inan and dictated accounts of his journeys to Ibn Juzay.
These are known as the famous Travels of Ibn Battuta.
He died at Fez in 1369 C.E.
Ibn Battuta was the only medieval traveller who is known to have visited the lands of every Muslim ruler of his time.
He also travelled in Ceylon (present Sri Lanka), China and Byzantium and South Russia.
His traveling went on for about 29 years and he covered about 75 000 miles, visiting the equivalent of 44 modern countries.
His trips were recorded in a book titled 'Rihla', or 'My Travels'.
